Smart choices – since 1962
Our extensive wood chipper range includes models that meet the demands for both bioenergy and landscaping applications. FARMI chippers have been designed with ease of use, productivity and, of course, safety in mind. The chippers are available as manual feeders and crane feeders. The smallest manual feed models are designed for producing landscaping chips and the crane-fed models for energy chips.
The chippers will consume anything that you feed into the infeed chute. The CH10 and CH18 chippers are suitable for trimming branches, twigs and tree tops. With enough rounds in the CH18 chipper, you can produce good quality fuel chips from trimmed tree limbs.
The CH27 and CH38 size class of chippers are manufactured with 2-blade rotors. Thanks to the rotor structure and the additional blades in the chipper casing and at the mouth of the exhaust chute, the chips produced with the chippers are clean and of high quality.
The cutting process consists of the following three steps:
Indeed, the FARMI chippers are known in the market as among the best and most productive wood chipper units in their size category.
All of our chippers, except for the manual feed CH27 model, have a wide feeding angle, which reduces the need for energy. As wood is fed at an angle to the blade disc, cutting requires less power than a more direct feed.
With the exception of the CH10 chipper, the other models have an adjustable chip size. In the CH27 and CH38 chipper, the adjustment is made by moving the blade holders.
By purchasing your own wood chipper, you can make your chips whenever it best suits you. You get to avoid having to depend on others’ schedules or on rental machines.
Our manual feed wood chippers are available in versions with both a direct feed and an angled feed system. All of our wood chippers meet the latest safety provisions. The FARMI wood chippers can be equipped with a mechanical infeed chute or a hydraulic infeed chute with 1 or 2 rolls. From a safety perspective, it is key that the distance between the infeed chute and the blades is sufficient, 1,500 mm, and the bottom of the chute must be at least 600 mm above the ground surface. This improves work ergonomics, as it is easier to feed twigs, branches or tree crowns to the infeed chute. The infeed chute must also be tilted to a sufficient angle away from the blades.
The latest CH27 and CH18 manual wood chipper models meet the strict criteria of the latest EN 13525 standard for wood chippers. The latest safety provisions require an inbuilt electronic feeding control system for wood chippers. Our wood chippers also use the smart, self-learning Smart Feed control system.
All our crane-fed wood chippers have a wide-angle feed system. The wood chippers are designed to enable easy feeding of materials using a grapple crane. The infeed chute is open at the top and includes either a flat conveyor system or an extension to the infeed chute. The conveyor particularly makes it easier to feed untrimmed solid wood to the system. It conveys the branches broken by the feeder rolls to the “mouth” of the wood chipper, and no bits of branches and rubbish will be collected around the infeed chute. This means that the rubbish and small branches will not cause unnecessary failures to the feeder.
When the wood chipper is exposed to maximum loading, the significance of the control relay is emphasised. The new self-learning Smart Feed control system reacts quickly enough to the number of rounds and will stop the feeding system if necessary. This prevents the wood chipper from getting blocked. The Smart Feed control also includes an automatic pressure reversal feature, which significantly improves the smoothness of work. If the system’s maximum pressure lasts more than 2 seconds, the infeed chute performs a short, automatic reversal. This allows the machine user to focus on controlling the crane as there is no need for taking hands off the crane control unit.
The productivity, safety and comfort of use of the CH27 wood chipper has been taken to the next level. The model with a roll feeder has a 2-roll crane-fed system.
Use the FARMI three-stage chipping technology to produce high-quality and uniform woodchip. The CH27 model with a conveyor feeder also operates on a 2-roll crane-fed system.
BC30 flat conveyor feeder system on wheels makes crane-fed wood chipping run smoothly and easily. The conveyor is compatible with the CH27 ACR and CH260 HF-EL/EM wood chipper models.
T500 wood chipper platform trolley is necessary when the wood chipper and crane combination is too heavy for a tractor. This solution is compatible with the FARMI crane models CR47, CR67 and CR69.
